The journey begins....

Good morning from Beijing! I sit here awake listening to my hubby sleep.....oh if only I could have slept 3 more hours until the alarm! It is surreal to be back in China and we cannot wait till Monday!

Yesterday morning we were uo by 430am and out the door after some tearful goodbyes by 545 for the airport. Our first flight was tight on Delta but uneventful...except when I left my kindle fire on the plane and did not realize it until half way into the next flight. I have submitted a lost item sheet but I am not holding my breath on getting it back! Mike said if that is the worst thing that happens then we are doing ok! We boarded Korean Air from Atlanta and that flight was almost 15 hours long! It started off with the beautiful stewardesses bowing and ready to serve us. The leg room was good, seats were as comfy as economy can be and the movie selection was good n their new releases. Watched 4 movies....tried to sleep and ate! LOL! Our last flight brought us into Beijing around 8pm last night. Bumpy but ok. So glad to be off the plane!

Today we were scheduled for the ususal Beijing tour but since we are the only family in Beijing with our agency we have decided to skip the morning part since we have done that before. We are meeting our guide Michael at 1030 and heading to lunch at a factory to see how jade is made. Then we will see the Great Wall and back to the hotel. Tomorrow we are up early again to fly to Chongqing!!!! Getting so close now! Till later, keep us in your prayers!
